A leading Indian bank believes that there exists a set of customers, who while being apprehensive of transacting on mobile would like to be aware of their account balance and last transactions in real time through mobile application.
The task of getting account transaction updates to be made as simple as receiving a text message. Since, the target segment is those set of users who are not using mobile banking, this application can be used to hand-hold the users to experience the convinience of mobile banking.
MOBILE BANKING OVERVIEW
The design parameters are based on the data provided by the client and interviews we conducted with 8 people of different financial stature. I used a mapping technique to convert the statements made by users during the interview to product requirements. The statements were grouped together based on commonality.

The dashboard has some essential elements associated with it, namely Add/Remove accounts, Navigation Drawer, Accounts Overview, last log in details and log out.

This section consists of all the transaction details related to the account. Some primary functions of this section are Search and Filter, View Account Overview, Select Statement Period, Account Reports, Switch accounts.
An overview of the monthly expenditure with expense analysis and income vs. expenditure. This is intended for the user to visualize the average expenditure each month. The monthly expenditure will take you the expense analysis of that particular month.
Highlights the areas of major expenditure with a facility to check expenditures between months and on individual months. Bubble plotting allows visual identification of expenses along with absolute values.

HI-FIDELITY INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPE
For usability testing, I created a high fidelity prototype. This also helped in understand how users are perceiving the system.
I did not know I had to go to the bank to register for mobile banking. This would certainly help, I hate queuing in banks.
It was easy to learn and I am not worried about using this as nobody can transact or get my account details.
I would like to use the app frequently, specially as they are soon going to be working professionals.
It is easy to use, though I needed to learn it I did not require anybody’s help.
I don’t really use apps much so I find it a little complex to understand.
